Samantha Ryan, COTA/L received her Associate of Applied Science degree from Greenville Technical College in 2017. During her Level I and Level II fieldwork Samantha was placed in multiple pediatric settings. Most notably working with medically fragile children at the Roger C. Peace Pediatric Rehabilitation Center. Samantha has over two decades of volunteering and advocacy experience focusing on several areas including special education rights, sensory processing, emotional and behavioral regulation for children, as well as providing in classroom sensory support in preschool and summer camp settings. Additionally, Samantha continues to work on various projects to promote increased awareness and support for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
She also promotes the distinct value of Occupational Therapy Assistants across settings and in leadership roles. Samantha believes in promoting skill building through play and enjoys providing child-led and family centered OT interventions. Samantha resides in Cary, NC with her Partner, Jenn, and their son. In her free time she enjoys cooking, exploring outdoors with her dog, and game nights with her friends and family.
