Amanda Turner

Speech Therapist

Amanda Turner

My name is Amanda Turner and I will be your child’s Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). I received my B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences from University of Washington in 2015, and my M.A. in Speech-Language Pathology from Louisiana State University in 2018. I moved from Northern California to North Carolina with my husband, David. Although I miss In-N-Out and the Monterey Bay Aquarium, we have been enjoying exploring all our new home has to offer!

Most of my time as a therapist has been spent within ADHD and autistic pediatric/young adult populations. I have experience working collaboratively with a variety of other professionals (e.g., educators, ABA, occupational/physical/ music therapists), in group and individual settings, both in-person and via telehealth. I am a neurodiversity affirming SLP. I feel strongly that my role as a therapist is that of a collaborator and teammate, with my clients and their families. I strive to encourage clients in their strengths while aiding them in their functional communication within their communities. My sessions frequently involve a lot of client-led play/activities, shared book reading, and active movement. When I am not working, I can be found drinking copious amounts of coffee, watching Animal Planet with my husband, reading/listening to/watching something fantasy related, or spending time with my dog- Hilda, and her three cat siblings- Toulouse, Louise, and Soji.
