Laney McLaughlin

Clinical Manager - Speech Therapist

Laney Mclaughlin

Laney is originally from Northern Virginia but now lives in Raleigh with her husband and four children. She attended Radford University for undergrad where she received a Bachelors of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She went on to attend LSU for graduate school where she achieved a Masters of Arts in Communication Disorders. She loves being a SLP but in her free time she likes to read books, go to hot yoga, listen to music or podcasts, run, and go on adventures with her family. Most of all, she loves to spend time and play with her kids. Not only does she understand life as a therapist but also as a Momma navigating life with a child who has special needs. So she understands what life is like from both perspectives.

Laney joined DTA in December 2023. She is a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) and the Clinic Manager of the Cary office. She has fourteen years experience being a SLP. She has experience working in the following settings: home, daycare/preschool, school, private practice, and in an outpatient hospital. She’s also created and led year long social skills groups, often with an Occupational Therapist (OT). She’s also led a therapeutic summer camp with additional SLPs and OTs. She has experience working in early intervention and with children of all ages. She has experience working with the following delays/disorders: receptive and expressive language, pragmatics, articulation, phonology, Apraxia, fluency, oral-motor, and feeding. She also has additional training in the following: Talk Tools (multiple levels and classes), PROMPT (second level), DIR Floortime, and PECS. She is also currently in the process to become certified as a Lactation Consultant.
